A Brazilian lawyer by training, Tania’s role is to work with the investment teams by drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents for structured debt and private equity transactions.
Working with external legal counsel, she monitors the perfection of collateral, legal due diligence and coordinates documentation closings. She also participates in the discussion of risks and proposes mitigation strategies for new and existing deals. Since joining AMERRA in 2018, Tania’s focus has been on investments in the sugar and ethanol sector, as well as cotton and seeds, to companies located in Brazil and Latin America.
Prior to joining AMERRA, Tania worked as a senior associate at Santos Neto Advogados, a leading Brazilian law firm, specializing in agribusiness. where she assisted an array of clients (including AMERRA) on matters related to banking and finance law, including structuring transactions, drafting and reviewing legal documentation and issuing legal opinions. Tania also worked in the legal department of Biosev, a Louis Dreyfus Group company, as a legal coordinator, where she oversaw legal support for corporate, commercial, finance/treasury and M&A departments.
Tania is a native Brazilian and holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, a specialization course in banking law and capital markets from Fundacao Getulio Vargas – GV Law and an LL.M. degree in banking, corporate and finance law from Fordham University School of Law in New York City. Tania is also an admitted attorney in the State of New York. She is fluent in English and Portuguese.
