Senior Consultant

Eugenio Meschini leads a team of agribusiness investment professionals and works closely with the CIO, CRO and in-house legal team to originate, structure and support AMERRA’s portfolio of private credit across the Americas and private equity investments in Europe.

A passionate former rugby player, Eugenio prioritizes team work and entrepreneurial spirit.  He has an extensive network of relationships across the Americas and ample experience in the Food & Agribusiness sector having spent over 22 years at Cargill.  Eugenio is also a grape and wine producer in his native province of Mendoza, Argentina.

During his tenure at Cargill he worked in different business units including Trade and Structured Finance, Risk Management, Environmental Finance and Black River Asset Management.  Eugenio was part of the senior team that spun out of Black River to form Proterra Capital Partners.  Among other duties at Black River / Proterra he was responsible for leading the acquisition, restructuring and turnaround of sugar and ethanol company Grupo Ruette in Brazil.  Other previous investments included AdecoAgro, Tupa Renda, Pure Circle, Uralkali, RAV, and MHP.

Eugenio is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.  He holds a BA and both a MIM and MBA from the University of St Thomas in St Paul, Minnesota. He is a member of the Board at portfolio company Avramar with operations in Greece and Spain.
