At AMERRA, Dan originates and manages debt investments for the non-Brazil Debt Team. Dan’s approach to business development is not to arrive at a binary outcome, but rather structure investments where AMERRA can both deliver value to investors and partner with clients to achieve lasting results.
Dan has driven AMERRA’s presence in shrimp aquaculture in Central and South America; as well as served as a board member for Ciclon, AMERRA’s coffee trading joint venture. He also manages and originates a variety of investments related to, rice, sugar, cocoa, grain, Agri inputs, peanuts, poultry, ethanol, and precious metals.
Prior to joining AMERRA in 2012, Dan held management positions covering the commodities space at Noble Group, HSH Nordbank and WestLB. Dan is formally credit trained by the Bank of New York where he covered several sponsor acquisitions, equity investments as well as Latin American financial institutions. He started his career at JP Morgan where he managed a team of analysts supporting the bank’s international branch office network.
Dan received a BA from Kenyon College with a concentration in Economics and Latin American Studies and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management with a focus on international finance. Dan is fluent in Spanish and literate in commercial Portuguese.
