An agronomist by training, Felipe Greco joined AMERRA in 2017 as part of the Brazilian-based investment team. Felipe grew up in his family’s coffee and dairy business in the Brazilian countryside. His childhood experience and belief that agribusiness is a driver of social change and rational use of natural resources is critical, motivated him to pursue a global career in agricultural sciences and how they drive investment themes. Felipe’s multicultural background, strong technical and practical expertise and on-the-ground presence add value for AMERRA portfolio companies.
Felipe has been deeply involved in the ongoing management of Rio Amambai Agroenergia (RAA), an AMERRA sugar and ethanol portfolio company. Initially overseeing the company’s operational committee, he is currently responsible for aligning company executives with Board objectives in a critically important governance role. Under Felipe’s leadership, RAA has evolved into a successful turnaround story. Three years after the acquisition as a non-operational asset, RAA transformed into an efficient crushing facility with reinvigorated cane fields capable of achieving full capacity utilization creating significant shareholder value.
Prior to AMERRA, Felipe held executive positions at Brookfield Asset Management and AGBI Real Assets. Felipe holds a BSc in Agronomy from the University of Sao Paulo and a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from University Hohenheim in Germany. Felipe is also a CFA Charterholder.
