David focuses on providing ongoing support to AMERRA portfolio companies, leading sector coverages, building target pipelines and executing transactions. His background is in Latin American finance, having served in Investment Banking, Commercial Banking and Sales and Trading roles focused on the region.
David’s sector theses involve constructing market overviews, value chains, and company mappings. He establishes relationships with industry insiders and target companies and works with senior team members to present potential targets to the AMERRA Investment Committee. Once approved, David will support due diligence, deal term negotiation and documentation. On the portfolio support side, David assists in the execution of strategic objectives, corporate development, and M&A.
David was part of the AMERRA team that lead the investment into Aquaship, a company providing a full suite of vessel-based services to the aquaculture industries in Norway, the UK, Chile, and the Mediterranean.
Prior to AMERRA, David worked at Jefferies, where he supported the sale of a Peruvian financial services company. Before Jefferies, David worked at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, first as a Structured and Corporate Finance Associate within the Latin America group and later as in the Portfolio Management Group, where he originated and then constructed a historical risk-return analytics model for the bank’s $180bn portfolio.
David is a native English speaker and fluent in Spanish. He holds a BA in History from Columbia University. He is an avid rock climber, reader and salsa dancer.
